23 Funnies of Both Cute Kittens and Furiously Feisty Felines to Embrace Our Pawrenting Path

Posted by Blake Seidel

Pawrenting is hard, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. It is one of the most rewarding things you can do as a hooman, but these cats will press your buttons every day, some days to the brink of insanity. When you come home and find your socks all over the floor because your cat cleared them out so they could lie down in "their" favorite drawer for the 40th time, it's natural to lose your cool. Or when you have to take them to the vet because they've stopped eating and you're pawsitively worried sick about them…. only for the vet to tell you that they're just mad you came back late from work yesterday.

But, all that being said, we do love being a pawrent. You have little ones waiting for you at home, who want to snuggle up next to you while you read or watch TV, and they bring a brightness to your home that wouldn't be the same without them. You have to take the good with the bad, and that's life.

To prepare you for your pawrenting journey, or if you're already there, we've found some funnies for you that purrfectly relate to your pawrenting expurrience. These adorable cat memes reflect the highs and lows of caring for cat children, so don't say we didn't warn you. It will be the best and worst thing in your life, but you'll never want to give it up once you start.

23 Photos of Goofy Ginger Cats Proving They’re the Golden Retrievers of the Whiskered World

Posted by Mariel Ruvinsky

People who talk about how aloof cats are have clearly never met a ginger cat before. Of course, all cats have their fun moments, but with most cats, you have to wait, you have to be patient, to see their true chaotic potential. Ginger cats though, they show you their true colors right away. They will surprise you by how fast they can make you laugh. Orange cats are kind of like… the golden retrievers of the whiskered world.

We don't know quite what it is that makes them so different than other cats, but the internet's theory is very simple. Orange cats have one braincell only - to share between all of them. Every once in a while, your orange might be blessed with receiving the braincell, and you will be amazed by their intelligence. But for the most part, orange cats will be their silly selves, and we will be right here, enjoying every second of it.

Worker finds a half-frozen kitten who was abandoned by its momma sleeping on a forklift in below-zer

Posted by Mariel Ruvinsky

It's finally cold outside, and honestly, we cannot be happier. The warm blankets are out, the hot cocoas are being made nearly daily, our cats cuddle us each and every day to get some of our warmth for themselves. Purrfection. But while we and our indoor cats are enjoying the warm weather, the outdoor cats, especially the little kittens, are about to enter the most difficult season of the year. And some of them… might end up in the same position this little kitty was.

The runt of the litter. This little kitten was abandoned by momma cat. We don't know exactly why or when. What we do know is that this tiny fluffball was found half-freezing on top of a CAT forklift by someone who was - thankfully - kind enough to do the right thing and get her out of the cold. There is no telling how long she was there, how long she was sleeping in the cold, but what we know now is that she will not spend another cold night alone ever again.

Sleep nao plz

I am very tired, and have been all day. I expect not going to bed until very late last night had something to do with it. I had an accidental midday nap, too, so... yeah.

But! Blanket is almost done! I just need to do a zig-zag around the edge where the border finishes, that's all! Would have done it tonight but my father had gone to bed and the sewing machine is in the room next to his bedroom, so... He could probably sleep through it, but I'd rather not disturb him. AND if it suddenly gets hot tomorrow I can still use the blanket, it's in a perfectly useable state now yay! :D

Other than that, played some Terraria with people again, which was fun! :D And a bit more on my own after I worked on the blanket.

Sushi is walking a lot better today, so I'm hoping that's because he's actually healing as much as the painkillers. Given he was still walking oddly yesterday, I have high hopes! His tail is still drooping, but the base of it is a lot more expressive, so hopefully that's just the swelling...

Also wow what is the cloudflare bullshit, bleh. As someone on one of the discord servers I'm on said, "Boy howdy, do I love having 90% of the internet run through about 3 different companies." :/

Lion cub born with a rare disorder and cannot be released into the wild is paired with a tiny dachsh

Posted by Mariel Ruvinsky

As much as we disagree when people say that "cats are not friendly", we can still admit that it takes time to win over some cats. They have barriers, they have their walls up, they're strong and independent and proud of it. So, it takes time and effort to break through all of that and win over their hearts. And there are only few creatures that purrsistent. Humans, of course, are one of them. And then, there are dogs.

Yes, "cats and dogs don't get along". We've heard that a million times before, but it's not true. Cats and dogs can be best friends, and most often, we think that it is because dogs have the tenacity to not quit until they win the cats over. And it's true for all cats, not just house cats. It's why shy cheetahs get paired with Golden Retrievers in zoos - to help them come out of their shells. It's why when these Bengal tiger cubs were abandoned by their mother, the cubs were paired with a dog who helped raise them. And it's why the lion in this video because such good friends with this dachshund.

Kind stranger makes little boy's Christmas wish come true and gifts him an emotional support calico

Posted by Lana DeGaetano

Santa Claws often takes the form of a chubby fella with a long, white beard who wears a red suit and rides in a sleigh. Sometimes, though… Kind strangers take their gift-giving to the next level, making a young child's wish come true. In the video you'll watch below, you'll meet an angelic human who decides to make a little boy's wish come true using Walmart's Angel Gift Tree gift-giving process. His wish? A new calico kitty after losing his emotional support puppy.

Losing an animal is hard, but writing off animals completely is the wrong approach. The little boy featured here didn't need to be told that; He knew his heart was ready to love another animal in need.

Not only did the kind stranger adopt a young adult calico cat from the shelter, but she also bought him litter, food, toys, treats, and even a $200 gift card for additional items he might need! It doesn't take much to change someone's life, and this generous woman decides to give the gift of not only life, but also of love, to both the cat and the little boy. Scroll below to check out some of our favorite snapshots and then the entire video!

Mod Post: Off-Topic Tuesday

In the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like.

Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat among yourselves.

The intent of these posts is to chat and have some fun and, sure, vent a little as required. Reasoned debate is fine, as always, but if you have to ask if something is going over the line, think carefully before posting please.

Normal board rules about conduct and behaviour still apply, of course.

It's been suggested that, if discussing spoilers for recent media events, it might be advisable to consider using the rot13 method to prevent other members seeing spoilers in passing.

The world situation is the world situation. If you're following the news, you know it as much as I do, if you're not, then there are better sources than scans_daily. But please, no doomscrolling, for your own sake.

I mean... between the Epstein files in the US, and the UK's Labour Government recommending immigration policies that make the former Tory ones look progressive I wouldn't know where to start.

Happy Life Day to those who celebrate the most wince-worthy of fictional holidays... the anniversary of the first showing of The Star Wars Holiday Special

I've been dealing with some things in real life so have not been able to catch up on new shows like "Pluribus" or "IT! Welcome to Derry" as yet. Any good?

I did find that there was a special Epilogue released to celebrate the tenth anniversary of The Bright Sessions which was a bit of a reminder about the transitory nature of time as I could have sworn it was barely five years ago it came out.

And it was confirmed that the Doctor Who spin off miniseries about UNIT "The War Between The Land and the Sea" will launch on 7th December, at the same time as an edited version of the original Jon Pertwee series "The Sea Devils" is released. Certain sections of the fandom are already "outraged/appalled/clutching their pearls" that the Sea Devils will be referred to as "Homo Aqua".

As if "Sea Devils" wasn't originally just a term used by a traumatised person to describe the creatures that attacked him, rather than a more neutral name you might want to use in a diplomatic relationship.

21 Purrecious Pictures of Cats Turning Cold Days Into Toasty Tea Parties

Posted by Sarah Brown

When the weather turns cold, cats slip effortlessly into full cozy mode, and nothing completes the scene quite like a kitty settling in beside a warm cup of tea. The moment a mug appears, a cat magically materializes padding over, curling their paws under their chest, and giving slow, content little blinks as if they're ready to share a peaceful winter moment.

They love sitting close enough to feel the warmth, noses twitching at the gentle steam while snow drifts outside. Some perch beside your cup like fuzzy tea companions, others curl into your lap as if they're part of the ritual. And on extra chilly days, they scoot even closer, acting like their presence is essential to keeping both of you warm.

Tea time just feels softer with a cat nearby. The world quiets down, the cold seems less sharp, and every sip feels cozier with a purring friend in the mix. With their snuggles, warmth, and perfectly timed appearances, cats turn even the simplest winter moment into something wonderfully comforting.

'She picked us before we picked her': A meowing yard-day visitor curls up in a lap, wins over two hu

Posted by Sarah Brown

When a sweet little cat wandered up during a day of yard work, this couple assumed she belonged to someone nearby. She was friendly, fearless around lawn equipment, and more than happy to curl up in a warm lap. They thought she'd head home eventually. Instead, she spent the entire night outside calling for help, her tiny meows impossible to ignore.

After hours of talking, wondering if they were ready for another cat after losing a beloved senior boy, their hearts made the choice for them. The next morning she got flea treatment, a warm welcome inside, and a brand-new beginning. Despite the fear she'd want to return outdoors, she settled in instantly. One brief step outside was all it took for her to decide indoor life was exactly where she wanted to be.

Their resident cats accepted her surprisingly fast, turning what could've been chaos into a smooth transition. By the end of the month she had her vet care, her microchip, and her forever furmily.

'You need to NOT reward her misbehaving': New cat owner realizes her cat is tricking her into being

Posted by Briana Viser

It's the worst feeling in the world to feel duped. Tricked, deceived, mislead – it's just horrible. When someone pulls a fast one on you, it's not overreacting to ice them out and remove them from your life. But what about your cat? Would you ignore your cat if he or she pulled a fast one on you? It raises a lot of questions, but we'll get to the bottom line in the story below.

The protagonist is a woman who just got a female cat. She suddenly has the sensation of blackmail, treachery, and trickery. Her cat starts getting into some naughty behavior, and started chewing on inedible things like cords, plastic, or string. Because the woman doesn't want her cat to be getting into trouble like that, she assumes the cat is hungry so she feeds her. Well, it may all be an intentional ploy, and it may be completely innocent, but either way the owner is left feeling blackmailed by her own cat, and the cat's health declines from overeating. The owner worries about her cat since she's gaining so much weight now. She goes to the anonymous internet for advice on her manipulative, fat little kitty. Read the full story below.

26 Photos of Tightly Tucked In Feline Fur Babies Keeping Their Toe Beans Toasty

Posted by Laurent Shinar

With winter well underway, we can now indulge in those fantastical frost related activities that we have held off from all summer long. Drinking pumpkin spice lattes, dressing your cat child up in coats and hats, and of course getting to use the early nights as an excuse to curl up with your favorite blanket on the couch and fall asleep for the sweetest of naps.

And while that might be something that you cannot quite do at the moment seeing as you are likely at work, we figured we would bring some of that winter wonder your way with this collection of cute cats chilling and napping under their favorite blankets. Because there truly is nothing as purrecious as having a cat who feels comfortable and safe enough in your home to fall asleep under a blanket. Best viewed alongside a comforting cup of tea to mimic the feeling of a cat sitting on your chest.

‘It's always comforting to hear him making noise because when he's quiet, you know something is brew

Posted by Laurent Shinar

Cats are clawminals, we all know that. But each one of them has a distinct approach to their outlaw activities. Some prefer to do their business in the middle of the night when they cannot be chastised for being a menace. Others like to conduct their business outdoors, where they have access to the wider population of hoomans and animals. And then, then there are those who want nothing more than to cause chaos right in front of us, to shove their feisty and frenetic behavior in our faces. And today we have just that kind of cat featuring in our story.

So hold onto your hats and your toothbrushes as we step into this story about the cat child who was so displeased it was denied entry to the bathroom that it went on a vindictive rampage. We can assure you that within the scales of feisty feline behavior, it hardly gets any more spicy or vindictive than this.

20 Soft & Sleepy Cat Memes for Maximum Autumn Monday Meltiness

Posted by Ayala Sorotsky

There's something about an autumn Monday that just hits different - like the world collectively decides to move at half-speed, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket, sipping something warm, and pretending the to-do list doesn't exist yet. And honestly? No creature embodies that soft, sleepy Monday mood better than a cat. Cats are the blueprint for autumn meltiness: loafing in sunbeams, curling into fluffy puddles, and giving us that slow blink of "please, no sudden movements, I'm vibing".

So if you woke up this morning wishing you could burrito yourself in blankets and purr your responsibilities away, congratulations - you're already in perfect alignment with the feline fall lifestyle. And since we can't all spend the day napping like a tiny woodland creature on a pumpkin, the next best thing is… sleepy cat memes. The softest, warmest, coziest ones we could gather.

Think of this as your autumn Monday comfort pack: gentle snoozing kitties, fluffy paws tucked under like warm mittens, cats melting off couches like little floofy lava flows, and those half-asleep, droopy-eyed expressions that say "I nap, therefore I am". It's time to slow down - let these sleepy feline funnies wrap around your soul like a knitted scarf. It's Monday, yes - but it's also autumn, and somewhere out there a cat is snoring softly in a windowsill. And for a moment, you get to melt right along with them.
